Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. ]7 L5 C% c0 r$ S- `2 {6 }, v
) q2 M% G' ]( t+ \2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
7 p1 m" v8 L% c2 Q* G# }; T(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include8 N0 `- L9 u+ r
Activity Planning and Daily Activity3 }3 J9 P5 e; c# b/ ?
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
; Q4 X0 _- D% C! {& Q% |, |) T# ^$ t, [• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. ; D1 a( F; R$ v, B5 f" o& B
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, % W. c7 C/ x" e) k8 w9 d0 P
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants., d1 C5 i5 j& f' v8 \7 Q/ c
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.* f5 [! e0 X) B. F3 z- d( S0 h
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting" d, h" N. M8 x1 Q5 v5 D2 e( A
• Experience with children3 \+ P. T* b& L! S
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 1 o7 L) z2 A3 f, @
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.8 q* j& @5 R6 x3 U! x# y' ]) k3 {
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
