9 f+ L+ S5 T2 y0 @& H% fBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

. B, p( d* t& ~- S& Q: e. d8 K. cKey Responsibilities Include
3 Q4 P. Z' o0 V. ]' Q& lActivity Planning and Daily Activity
2 t9 K& T+ M) w. O) U& m$ \•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
8 `5 S( [( F6 U* M* }•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
! c# N/ k3 c. H' }! ~& A0 ^•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
/ g: i* K3 h6 T* v/ K9 q) w( B•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
+ d$ T( z! C( t, G•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
2 M! u, ~" F4 c- A- G" }•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
2 P2 G  {; E! c1 R0 d•        Experience with children
; T4 U# @4 n. d/ Z" p- r6 k•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
. w. j; n9 }, P0 n  N; m% p•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
2 e( Q" H2 H) e1 m•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
  n! ]# ?; _4 ~•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
