5 k+ u- `6 @3 pBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

) m& {! K6 r* G! n5 `6 TKey Responsibilities Include
0 w/ n. w v: ]0 Z, Y( v- xActivity Planning and Daily Activity
. i _4 j+ N4 P8 }+ [• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership. o+ v4 ^' b Q3 ~, Z$ }. { X$ N
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. - j4 O$ F) D. [8 q! a
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
. Y4 |% Z, j4 O$ S/ s- ?! W# l V( B• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.( p7 ?! X& K; Z- P
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
7 Q+ N: n1 A* |• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
6 A* u% I. ?0 z3 G5 {; H• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting0 [$ E7 _& p8 x# G# T. m! U" Y
• Experience with children
; c! D; m# o. U) a1 D4 D• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth * u( w. @6 b( v- }" Z7 T
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.! s) h6 a M N) i6 Y2 I0 x
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
