On May 1, 2002 it became mandatory in Alberta for all children under the age of
8 s3 X/ l- L" C% W& }& o$ o18 to wear approved bicycle helmets when cycling.

We are aware that enforcement agencies will be conducting helmet checks this
/ C4 s: F' i3 U% ~) N5 ssummer. The fine is $69.00, which is substantially higher than the cost of a
helmet.
