FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 6 N) ~1 l! z0 N- y) @: j' Y3 z
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from # T) v0 P5 k6 @7 F6 R; ^
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 0 n9 G& n% x: U* D" c9 J2 e
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * B9 R q" P& h. J/ Y2 {: l
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 3 Z/ f. {% v: C- C0 E1 j' x4 s W
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 9 Q! H" t$ T/ `2 d7 R

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the " s3 m( e2 i, p
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as : B/ k1 W. j' b" a# K
well as the script, magazine and book library. * U- u$ t1 d# k0 K" D+ j
4 K, q# g# @* \0 i, |9 s$ ODuties:
. U+ s7 p6 _, ~- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library # b8 }# i+ j% A$ w, D2 L7 L% q
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
+ x# c8 y) U, p/ P2 j# D- Implement a catalogue template for future use " i$ E7 X1 O v( g
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 7 W$ L2 ~* }4 a/ x* r' {
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 9 z8 V. A) J2 x
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
; \. i- M) D6 ^, |- Strong organizational skills
. M7 o+ p/ n; \: g1 {8 j% X- Experience or training in library sciences preferred + V+ }3 Q; D( x2 Y
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors 8 m8 l/ a: k3 _+ n
