FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
( j6 `; R# p/ y: t7 ksummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
, x4 B0 _) i O2 ^/ Ksupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from $ n9 X- w" K3 G) F
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % E% O4 Y4 |: @2 K
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a , G( k, n) n! ~, R
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ( a. C+ l& `0 ` y6 }5 n- [
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ) A7 Z5 E5 y* n- a* @ R$ t

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the t4 V& |% g, e( h* s
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as " ?! T* @0 j, h
well as the script, magazine and book library.

# e/ k6 M. I6 L& ]5 w1 A- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
: g. ^/ I& t5 \/ z' K- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 5 ^. T/ d6 U7 F9 V
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
: G5 d% @. Z" N: O+ t7 g8 A0 B- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
5 \; O/ l3 l! J8 g# s' u- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

3 o/ d% z# X6 i- _- Strong organizational skills
' Q( d5 b x9 v; M. I) m- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 4 A; K$ ^ S' _. C: {
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
