% g D4 I' K. T0 ]. A' G+ BFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
* K5 a* h- p! `whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
* w& r3 ^: i# xartists from Northern Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ' W; w9 s0 V. d8 s* w
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ; D b9 \% j+ W/ ^
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive * ^( |! }+ f$ n& }# e" G7 g
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
A" K7 I4 E1 Aassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
( s' j, v$ S, r& ` c F' |+ _$ C- Assist with research on acquisition grants
, x$ k" U$ H7 z$ j2 ~" ~$ Z- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities " N7 u5 `: g7 ~( U4 i% Z U
- Assist with equipment maintenance
( ?8 T) V8 f2 ^/ F/ x" @- M- Assist with production logistics for programming events
s7 [% h) X B5 I& w4 r2 d% r7 e- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
4 d I# @, r0 u) O4 U. ]7 ~- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

0 f1 L1 O! V1 Q9 C- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
- D2 z, O( E D- Advance organizational and research skills 2 ?9 y2 h0 |+ N/ C# Y
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 8 K; y1 o' x4 b* C8 g' m7 j
- Strong team player abilities 9 M4 k% W/ k7 r) q
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
