FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 3 B) e5 H. u, U% }$ u3 n
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

. t( x" O7 ~, l4 AJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
! c' M! V+ D; C( l0 J/ ~Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by & ~5 r9 }) U+ I5 l2 y- u, M# L J
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. + s' u3 G' J: H2 U. {5 V

Duties:
0 I1 w. M6 D+ F+ e) w* J- l6 W2 T- Assist with research on acquisition grants
( v; m9 Q2 u( P) X4 E& Y7 u+ O& K- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities " |$ D& f6 W& q8 b S( p" j" a+ B' h
- Assist with equipment maintenance ! f' | G3 [/ ` m5 o6 x
- Assist with production logistics for programming events : h& U3 K( P) D. d- h
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ) T$ w% Z% n, p
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable " g$ C( h& ^# v, A2 E1 g: R
- Provide vacation relief 1 M, q/ [8 I+ H2 M& X0 h* G

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

3 R$ _0 T0 \) ?# r4 P, k- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
