Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

Responsibilities:
) H. \% X% T/ e( B0 ?, ?9 w9 I1 F- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program 5 l/ F u! g% N9 K* h8 N
(ages 6 to 15)
4 N3 P6 P& g7 J9 P3 x0 U5 ?) ~- Recruit children for summer programs
' r. y0 F5 q; b+ Q- Recruit volunteers for summer programs& A: K3 R0 ~# F) ?
- Record keeping4 M |$ q" k2 ~9 P# n7 P
- Provide orientation for parents
5 ~/ [' _0 T6 |: \- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency
, h9 R* ?( G, o8 @" U# Z- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager6 B% h' l" J6 }

Qualifications:1 Y' B5 g: v" n: k2 H! I: A! r" i0 b
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education0 ~( @( B; w$ J: l) d7 L4 T7 s- G
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
; T" A; E6 b( |5 c- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
$ V& |; M- G& _2 z- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities" |8 e2 g( a( i/ _7 X( _* _
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese2 y; I4 B/ ?$ F- h0 k% }5 L5 g" }2 [' z
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities( B+ h* a7 H( L4 P
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision$ }& ?, Z# i4 ^5 h
- Returning student (should return to school after summer)

- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning)
4 N6 x, g% J6 U# E3 e* c! i$ M& [3 H and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
- N, U4 ~" n" Q- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009' S2 c, o S: C& w8 W0 M
