Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

Responsibilities:
9 N6 L$ M! c4 L2 Z- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program % e! T. L5 M) h9 k9 f
(ages 6 to 15) - U- o2 w3 ]9 d9 n4 {" M
- Recruit children for summer programs. ^' M# A C- G9 T1 D
- Recruit volunteers for summer programs& U4 q! Z+ f. W9 e
- Record keeping8 \* A( o; E( [' G
- Provide orientation for parents6 X3 i' i1 ], u; M
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency" d4 w5 X5 h' f/ J( z+ Q2 O, D
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager1 A8 o8 E0 ^2 A$ \, w

- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education! r3 d( s X. Y4 y6 O/ u
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children) J2 F4 w; k. R
- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
' g$ ?; g* n8 F% G# L( m& J- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
|! S* h# v( _6 Q- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
1 d/ _ M$ L2 D1 m- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
- r! ]( X! Y; g, k' F7 w- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
^: L( e9 d: k3 r- Returning student (should return to school after summer)
3 p3 Y9 ?/ G8 d# J- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:# e) f" o. c6 g
- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning)
- D, H+ S: E# G+ u and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)2 ^1 p0 E1 |$ ]! u
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 20093 _2 k% `7 T; H S" O# y; w

Salary
R5 O s9 r4 }- $15 per hour
