. z) r7 R+ Z% m' V" e * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications1 g5 g+ r$ t8 W3 c U! O+ A
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis/ @; _$ t, q' `6 U5 r
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
4 F3 g5 c$ m* a! M& R/ j8 l4 I0 {$ W * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
9 S# {- g$ C. o2 b- Y * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
+ I" B4 G3 @; s * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs( k: [/ P# D' i: v! u
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
