* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications( S" E2 z! o! I( z. z
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis5 o* J; _6 Q; n) \) j
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance: e2 u- J% \0 B
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
" C A. r1 N2 Q" X) L# [( r * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies; Y/ H4 m$ h- b/ b! t/ `: L/ V/ g
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs a) g o v A# |6 |
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment: v; U- @# S9 q+ h$ V$ \

Qualifications
: B" W6 C k l* H5 @: E; v# Z, K# z+ t! ~/ k
* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred3 Q: [: C. o: z& [ j5 e3 x
* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required. @4 }0 ?/ w- H6 A2 b
