A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.7 J/ e8 x! x' X& \ `
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and. C( O! v0 J4 f* m2 X
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1): u& O, `' p) d2 T& V3 q% @) y
• Standard Child Care First Aid/ L9 d7 b. s2 N* Y. i+ f' z+ N; P
• WHMIS
1 {+ F( E5 b$ D• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care9 U9 @: C0 B8 s0 k$ @
• Components to improve communication skills
+ r+ u5 k4 Z+ Z& N. q• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria% x. t8 c9 S0 V
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen! P0 R# P8 e: |5 Q$ `* C' C
of Canada$ y S% ]* B& n+ v8 z o, U9 r. ]
• have a Social Insurance Number5 }6 c5 j b1 u* |' E0 v0 I
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check; `- P4 ?0 I$ A" ^) p6 I0 D) |6 L
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent5 x4 R6 {3 G P
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet! f. b1 r3 z1 F* d6 q1 A# r
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:3 I" |1 L* L# q
• be unemployed or underemployed.- G* y) B* }0 }( g& a' F
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course% g* x6 w3 H L$ Z9 k5 I. ~
• meet the financial eligibility criteria0 y7 n2 e b5 d @
