A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.! w# S3 f4 A7 f3 H
The program includes the following elements:9 k3 |! C; g7 X& i( {, U
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)1 ~4 b ^& |* u o2 u& e% ?' G% g$ _
• Standard Child Care First Aid/ b7 c7 F9 E3 L% P+ Q
• WHMIS
8 a! @7 _* Q) H& R6 j• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care, N/ ^7 M. |# h8 n6 z7 w9 r \. H
• Components to improve communication skills

• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
6 L' Z+ k- [( A* W, v @ Hof Canada2 m" {& H* n# p& p! x
• have a Social Insurance Number `1 _) k$ I! H$ x
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check8 S% p& f+ Q9 }2 J7 p
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet Q g% D8 h. P5 {
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:

They CANNOT quit their job to take the course; o1 a% H6 `0 s6 W& z
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
