　　原因是：

　　“self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self.

2 m. ]0 Y1 {. ~; ^　　折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside.

% r' J' Y3 S/ u5 [. p- h　　“Setback” is a much better word than “trouble”, whichanunseasoned translator would like to use in the firstinstance.“Setback” especially refers to the obstacle ordifficultyencountered in achieving a strategic goal.
