months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. " H2 u0 O. |! |& v2 g# H
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at 6 Z9 i1 g6 W2 _4 i Y
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. 1 N) q. N9 z, l, V+ i$ z4 z4 V. q

of so much news. These reasons are:

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and

3. New methods of injecting CO2 and surfactants into oil wells is

5. Virtually every restaurant in the US and all food processing plants ! V) g2 F% n L
are now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork, ! a' l P4 t0 e$ F7 O+ j
cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat % F. a& C! v) d- S4 y* \
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is 0 b* Y' u( {: w$ T3 X
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

7. Every company in any form of transportaion business is replacing

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new 7 D/ t4 b; h9 S- U, y$ f

% O1 U& e# N! p! y. x7 I9 T* V2 YAirlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio-

capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas ) d$ C9 o6 {+ P/ I4 }! k
available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude 4 S9 t6 \/ |, K
oil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2
! j6 y' ^, F2 l/ e% }% y" @2 yproduced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into , X/ Q4 Q5 \( [5 D- a
oil wells. # q' H) I* Y( T3 o# q; ]" G

) Z0 k5 n: n U10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy + M6 N* b) s. h" f- G
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US. * \3 V' l( k9 w2 ^: H8 {

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the
6 ?! n: u' l) q( |1 _price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world
# g8 s( @' _5 _. X% I- ychanging. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability ! l3 Z% ` B! h6 M2 q8 {# `3 _
to control oil prices.
