# i6 A. Q! M% O' g' t" Y. eIn the first incident, a 30-year-old man is dead in what police are calling a "gang motivated" shooting near Whitemud Drive, the Edmonton Police Service said in a press release.

) d% |4 }. r7 E, |$ bOne male passenger fled from the vehicle before police arrived, and reports indicate a small white car was seen fleeing the scene after the shots were fired.

, X7 s" O, f6 e2 x! qMeanwhile, one male is dead and another is in police custody after an altercation between two groups in an alley early Sunday morning, according to an EPS press release.$ t0 ^" c6 u5 I/ L
6 h3 O9 v" z; w; x/ IAt approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.1 V: Y3 B0 Y' E% t/ ?& i" ?

Upon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured.. V0 f0 P' T W) b8 h3 e
% i" D$ C$ m9 c+ Y5 OHe was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

U* H4 FA police investigation revealed that the three male occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a physical altercation with two other males and a female near an alley south of Whyte Avenue, between Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail, which resulted in one male being stabbed.# ]7 y. ; D3 t" r5 [& Q- Z& _8 b' i. oThe three suspects were located by police immediately following the vehicle stop. A 32-year-old male is in custody and charges are pending.
