* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
- X8 P* t+ Q& R& u, `, Y7 v' i# k# ~ * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
, ~1 o! N2 A8 R% R8 V9 a * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
" U% l8 f' _- l0 d * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat/ ], e$ L. ?8 z0 _. j2 H9 Z$ \* z$ Q
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders# O" {: O2 ]0 ^" k. }% f8 N
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements

* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications

$ ~2 J7 b) y$ k7 B * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred9 e! o, D% @3 T% N
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth- z0 N( C7 k/ c6 o9 n! ~
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
$ }% z H. c5 E& ^2 g * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies+ U: e% |. m' w/ X3 |5 e% R
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
