Duties

    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
- X8 P* t+ Q& R& u, `, Y7 v' i# k# ~    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
, ~1 o! N2 A8 R% R8 V9 a    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
" U% l8 f' _- l0 d    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
7 S- Z. `9 Q+ ]; b/ J/ k7 R    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs

4 U& p3 c0 ~  D) L: t9 t, L5 E    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
) F. H7 k6 h8 }5 `* m    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
9 v+ }5 L% P3 _1 O3 n  {  O$ ^8 Z    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications
0 T* t  j  Z6 y
$ ~2 J7 b) y$ k7 B    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
$ }% z  H. c5 E& ^2 g    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
2 Y% k/ Z) Q" N5 p6 F- K    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
    * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
