This position ends one year plus a day from the date of hire.
Duties

    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs

4 M" q) A  ?: _0 l7 m: _* C6 c( I0 ~    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
: K+ O9 P+ [3 g% _; s4 D6 f# h/ H    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

2 S0 [( R. E2 K$ b3 a
    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
' @0 X  M8 d( G8 x  K  P    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
$ i$ d0 `8 ?& }/ K' N1 A6 I6 a    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
    * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
