Duties
: e7 T6 Y4 G) W+ _8 z: G9 F" D! t3 ]8 i
    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program2 ~- Z7 }' d6 q
    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
1 f+ P3 }$ e( t- W- A: j( B4 Q    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
0 r. ~+ E7 ?$ ^. ^2 J1 S, F2 R. o7 R    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat# \; s9 d' l8 W  p# m  G" e
    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders5 S4 e8 d5 x* E9 F6 H( x8 X  q: L
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements! U, T. W8 I% \* E1 A& c
    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs) X! w7 Q* P6 g- l3 c9 m
    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director5 S( `: `0 C8 s2 Y8 s! s
    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media# z, ?% t& `7 k: S; r9 K
    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
# c& p( _8 q" z! F& m$ f: x6 L- l    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies& v% i/ v% j# f7 `9 ?. T$ I, P3 @

" z: Z( R1 f  E: _" [8 R# x  }    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
6 ^, e9 c+ |* f" ^    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth4 _$ i7 _! {7 M
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset, }$ E+ c: W# Y2 d5 o* ]
    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
8 ^4 w$ e. Y) M1 F1 U! i3 p    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
  K3 h+ }8 |* M6 ~0 g& g    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
: m% x+ g, Z- D! d2 p3 x    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
