Duties

/ Z5 n) c' Z- F2 A4 p+ e: G+ V    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
; h' k( [* d4 C4 ]; t& k  \    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities: D% Y6 E+ C6 u) }
    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
2 P! @% A% r4 W0 X6 ~4 p. m: F    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat  @% M' Y! D) g& \( s4 T. N
    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
7 p; Y! C+ _: I6 f0 X. |9 |( \    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
  E: f. {7 _9 r) t7 D3 V    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs& d. n* q* s5 \2 A. O& l
    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director6 X' M) o* I* N! m* L5 g5 l
    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
" |8 c. Y1 E" ^" ^& \: G    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
& n3 ^7 y2 ]8 H- {    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

5 w* D$ ~# s+ {4 `+ Q) z    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications; X1 i- y5 U. \4 b" u& P  l

( d2 b) I1 O$ S% Y    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred  [1 U8 D& }) }) w, e7 I" {# F
    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth  ?9 ~) G, N! B/ |+ C8 z
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
& \  S  n' ^  {" }9 e    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
5 x" G  X( @% X% d" l' E' X+ z9 ^    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills) O( l. r* ?. {4 X8 `4 v: @
    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning2 n! {7 ^8 H7 a0 q
    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)# Z9 C4 j& D1 J0 U4 O; s
    * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
