* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
+ [/ I4 ]1 ?- M/ V1 G+ F# _' @ * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group0 A0 Q/ U5 W. \" ?* g
* Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
1 S; x3 h* u; k- |7 [ * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations3 c- o- A% i/ L) h4 U
* Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director

* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth

* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment

% i' Y/ Z! X' F( d9 @ * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

* Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications$ N6 n4 m3 f' a( t/ k* t
& ?+ C# S Z6 ?7 \ * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
4 Z% X( ^1 `( C: N6 M% _ * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth6 F' z0 U" _5 |$ g: t/ V
* Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies) F7 l. M0 p2 O8 r
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs' w7 s6 {# R0 x3 u
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community$ y* c+ t6 @2 v! ]2 C2 z6 g
* Fundraising skills an asset
8 q4 @# B; t# }' x * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
