* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
. K6 f/ k4 m3 t: J" m% I$ @ * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group

* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
; z- d# M1 M- @ * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director: U9 W1 F m) ~# n
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
" ?! l' X" j+ }: }/ n+ I7 X * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
% i! N4 V4 F7 c7 ]3 j * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program

* Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline0 [9 y9 d% H/ M4 q* L F+ ?
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
9 o: a$ @& d+ g3 S3 v5 n * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies# Q* C6 X7 C* }5 V
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
& Q2 p6 h# ]' A * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community' W7 p- P5 @7 R3 O/ q
* Fundraising skills an asset
