    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region: q+ F7 L9 \5 ~7 h
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group  i8 \; `7 ]2 K' m' i2 h
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators, |$ p5 l! a& `/ V
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
7 \5 b) n/ I- s; B    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
" z0 n8 j3 s; ~  Y1 S    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses$ a! X: v- d# ?, {4 c
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
0 P( B( l0 |" G" T    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program& ?" ?0 g: ]& F: U8 F; T! C
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
8 w& i* V, [! e$ `- \    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports  _  \$ {# _; Q$ D2 `' Q% w
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
( \" s: c  E  P1 o  m. E, d7 r; b    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly) M5 K# u& I$ m' M2 a+ A0 u) q
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities, j* z! e1 s5 S5 n, `
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools: D( t4 c& N) h* G1 _  N

Qualifications/ g! {/ @/ v. u7 H% @
. e( q1 Y2 ^% Y/ i, M
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline% w$ J6 C$ e9 ^: C3 X
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
% w5 O9 Z! b/ ^$ \5 K    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
* U8 I( S( N$ h. r# W    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
' U" i$ G3 @% K% l; q4 s$ x, n) Y    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
+ o1 e) Z1 L: @    * Fundraising skills an asset# F/ H0 p' \" X6 c; v: s
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills0 X% i6 s8 `' V. s: s4 D
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills. a2 @1 V2 N. |
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
. b5 X& u) K: X4 e( q$ L    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
