* T  W: o# [, \! u: P    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region1 \5 q. m& w" J2 |8 @2 f
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
8 O  n& ]- j  K- o- z% X% e    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators% |0 M  f, f, \0 H' ~! C
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
5 F6 G; r) G0 B- a, t; _+ ?$ O: }    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director; Z+ _7 o) p9 B+ W& v$ c# F, f7 u
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses3 K- Q: T7 b. e! A* Z
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
. z- ?( s, `  [2 H! r    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
5 o! z# T2 f4 R4 H) S( Y1 h    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment6 Q5 V4 w9 }# X7 g3 T
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports" n' ?. z4 k+ L, N& p5 @! }
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs0 u3 W  O3 ^0 i+ r' I
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly1 J- z3 ~+ C( @
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities3 ?* @5 @* [) }% B9 _- d, n
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools4 B8 |& }& G' V. a# O

Qualifications
9 Y4 X& v+ T$ |# z/ e0 l# d9 v2 a) R3 K# x9 y0 X# J5 u
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
( E& d8 ?- H2 c' j0 h1 v0 w    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
% Y8 N# x/ Y& a; k    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies# j" @9 g( @7 u' i* Z6 d. Q, j
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs6 u* z" O0 s  u8 V0 g1 w8 t* n7 J
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills: z, J: q+ n) x6 l- f2 Z

    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset0 U) P; q$ P. q4 z! z9 G8 l4 L1 U
