* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region6 W0 K' t: w G/ U) Z+ c6 m# H
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group6 ]( s' w% K% ~# M- U6 Z4 H) M
* Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators2 f/ H% w3 F. D: n4 [
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
* V- |( n7 \' q+ D( x * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
# h; d1 E4 `8 y! s& H$ a3 j" M * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses! m& t+ u4 s: H, a% k M
* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth$ s: M, }4 S' C8 c% u
* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program

: ]+ R% Y4 e$ y) i( g * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
! ~- @* W! ]9 _7 t- T+ i * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs) v- K* u8 z1 x. z+ \( u
* Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
+ G- U" n2 x# H) J0 h7 C- n * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications
: _- I$ J1 W9 }8 {/ L) h! c2 z4 U4 A1 b2 ^; \: {/ o
* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
/ t1 K, I) z, h8 H) a * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
" p, O& s" X6 f" E) }) V1 n! q2 `- N * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies5 o/ Q- q0 E4 w! h+ ]! |* _
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
4 x% U: W- h$ X: U * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

+ @6 X% O: Q' j. w * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills7 u3 n/ Z* o( P1 M

* Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
