) b2 C# S1 b. _. i* p. ~ * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
- v! M+ E: t# Q7 `6 a1 c * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group1 {: K$ w# [" y" t7 d0 ~6 i
* Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
# y/ d! g* a9 R' k1 a2 o7 u) K1 P * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations7 E/ ]3 O; J& I9 I" M# j' Y- N
* Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
9 t4 U6 l8 e& t" \6 ? * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
! B- V& L. x2 _/ c * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth

& f1 X( ^5 F& t3 C: Y& \0 i; X * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment2 c6 m$ T [, U3 m; H
* Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
; B5 ]$ F; q9 ^1 ?7 C8 h/ m+ q * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth8 n! y: z2 K7 V, E9 I7 }) `
* Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies( i2 R9 n& e% z9 C1 ?! W% U
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs9 V2 k. v" Y+ Y! s- F+ ]
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community4 g- e3 R; [2 f9 p g3 M q2 r2 x5 P8 f
* Fundraising skills an asset+ Z& N% R* y; s# N
* Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills. @9 S3 L% m- Q8 r: ]
* Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills8 s2 v- {/ }# M
* Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills

* Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
