    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
. K6 f/ k4 m3 t: J" m% I$ @    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
8 Y% I, E4 Q3 \8 q; b6 d. T, r    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
; z- d# M1 M- @    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
" ?! l' X" j+ }: }/ n+ I7 X    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
% i! N4 V4 F7 c7 ]3 j    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
. o" Z5 W) Y6 {; r2 I    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
4 k# a( ]2 `( X) V+ C$ L    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
/ P7 q3 w5 a9 h$ b2 |7 R    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
2 J5 L: N2 k* N( l8 D  P    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
1 W! |, R2 ]6 X, ?1 ^8 s0 w    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

" `& @; E% F/ uQualifications

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
9 o: a$ @& d+ g3 S3 v5 n    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
& Q2 p6 h# ]' A    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
    * Fundraising skills an asset
0 w7 i! a: I7 G. @* F    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
# ^6 `, l1 e! Y& {' V6 E    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
