& Z) g0 p+ J/ RPosition Abstract: as a community organizer you will be responsible for providing training to residents of an inner city community who are actively involved in creating strategies for a healthier neighbourhood. Working towards ensuring wide participation by residents/organizations in the local community you will assist in reinforcing inclusivity. ! u* {9 I% e- ^$ h
9 w+ G( S6 M$ c, Q) _PLUS: a capable advocate for alternative dispute resolution, you will liaise between the community and elected officials/municipal administration, assisting in the development of a strong working relationship between these groups. . y7 V( p) v7 f& O
' N. x* G9 s* e5 X0 C6 l6 UEducation & Experience: the position calls for an individual with education in the humanities or related field + 2 years experience in the field of community organizing. Special interest in ecological literacy and sustainable communities will be an asset. 5 H6 p9 W8 y2 ^4 U
3 q# ~4 |. ^- d6 c) ^- j/ qOther Skills: the successful candidate will have a strong background in building group capacity & seeing projects through to completion. There is a significant element of research and an opportunity for creativity in assisting residents to address community challenges.
