- y! @2 ^- s; l" q( q2 { * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
, Y( q/ f l$ E _& \' Z * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography! U) T2 y0 }1 n; k
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques( X. r/ k9 Q$ N# T! \
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client8 [% g. {; G- b+ G! n, F/ F
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
4 j1 K: `; Y( r * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals- L# [/ W5 L" w
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
! C. u1 ]: u3 [. u. a: M8 W" S * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices# [$ `# V: _+ U( [8 R0 \" M
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

7 {" r+ Q( X/ tQualifications
% I) a6 G& n# u! t4 I5 Y: z: A# u
* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
4 f) W+ ]4 @/ ^4 ~3 l7 H9 @6 q- Z3 ]0 P * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
8 K+ d: A4 A" M9 s& D% i9 h( h * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel; I6 f+ g8 _0 z7 P. r6 v* ~
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
