* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis& U6 ~& U6 I! t, l6 U) V" m6 i/ r, L
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography: H7 C6 o% Q0 P7 c# B2 H
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques! R1 \( Y" P. r' I; E ]2 z
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
2 N9 I3 @/ ]' a9 E0 V6 \ * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry! V# |. N. ?8 P: u" ~$ G
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
9 ]1 ~* k$ J7 s6 Y * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab, g" M _& `. x. c' @
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
5 U/ l) O7 j1 ~2 c2 `1 M * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

Qualifications
/ X( u' u. E! f/ A# P
6 g0 h: k! k" @& i* w * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
% V" k) r5 _7 O/ B+ m+ B% J5 Q * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)( q+ N2 J7 P1 Q# Z( Q( [
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
7 z% @" A y2 _; C2 Q/ ] * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
% N/ K- \# a5 Z+ N( J3 F0 p * Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
