亚省石油及天然气能源业正抨击省府，在最近推动的开採权改革措施，並不足以提高本省竞爭力。

能源业界人士指出，目前，亚省在开採业方面的投资吸引力，远低於卑诗省和沙省等邻近西岸省份。

沙省的石油及天然气钻探活动正在迅速发展。该省的土地销售总额至今已达到4亿6,500万元的纪录水平，相等於亚省的两倍以上。
