Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

(Full time: 35 hours per week)

- answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.' x, D, s! W0 K. ?- \) R- W7 y" G
- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
+ g' e: U6 t+ s7 G8 ?$ D- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

Job Description
1 H+ Z4 u! D- H$ j8 }; c/ H" f2 t- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
( S) s( t/ c, u% B! g$ a; W- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services9 h9 [. P( L) s- ~2 m# c7 _
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
: R! M7 K" s6 n- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
4 Z5 M5 N% O& R- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members" O" G9 [0 j! Q4 _
- update ASSIST website5 [! d* W/ O+ U \" m2 b
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
9 b: B# [" l; ~4 \- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services: d* B, p2 O. ?# g% d& w+ N
- assist in writing proposal for ISP6 H$ U5 H& Z( v9 e6 g' x5 o
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP, N; g) ]+ [6 G2 C% V
- hold regular meetings with ISP team5 I5 [" M ]0 x3 X$ a
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time/ j4 m+ Y% {" j
- update membership database
% D6 z! m5 v& i/ U; N3 M- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
' V- S z1 j3 f2 s- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
4 L0 v4 {. w! F+ |" L; D- W# Y* U- good oral and written Chinese and English skills, v& F! w+ D. f, b
- experience in community work and immigrant services
! Q! J, s; S6 z6 Y9 w, ]- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset& B+ f, i( D# l3 _
