Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. 5 M* n+ R: s* V

! j" c% ]7 p! W# I- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members9 Y0 d r* Z. z" t7 P2 Y2 [$ ?
- submit information for community news
' j. q# C5 S/ r- prepare and send AGM information to members
; j1 A R1 U2 V- |- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services6 q' Q5 C9 B4 R% p
- assist in writing proposal for ISP* I# }% u; N! t+ q. y
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP7 @" p* x5 W- p# \1 o8 L6 [" Y
- explore new ideas for ISP

3 F( U0 w! k4 O( J5 [7 G- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications4 ~/ ]3 T5 n; v
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education , O/ K/ Q) ]' b3 y, G
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
4 N7 \" H$ a6 K _; A- experience in community work and immigrant services3 n0 V3 D1 O- Q* M
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars3 z; B$ V# R) Y- a! A
- leadership skills! G, r- k2 `% D
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
