2 J1 |; c8 o9 c9 \/ [' A9 gPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. 3 R) M J- I0 U6 f9 D0 O

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
7 p: S ?1 Y$ j( k. H- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
/ H ^/ @, l- f% a2 s E' W8 E u- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services6 U9 ~, g3 Y* O9 Z
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members1 p/ l% s+ h- T( F4 B8 m) b

- prepare and send AGM information to members! l) b5 f7 `) k# W, {; f; w& f1 x
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

) f' F, j B9 k* D* }- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
( @2 o( J! w# e; C4 r5 E1 s- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP3 }7 B9 A$ h/ p0 s: r
- explore new ideas for ISP - V& P( K. a+ f' o8 t* f: k
- hold regular meetings with ISP team7 Y: g* l1 u6 n: x: l( ^
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications* T3 _- T: D( K$ E- [
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education % _3 g8 i! F( i; X! i4 D
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills0 L6 B# Y+ U# A! _# J
- experience in community work and immigrant services3 Q$ a6 e* \+ A
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars' a1 m8 O0 \, Z6 c* ~* J
- leadership skills
