• reports directly to the Board of Directors

• develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets& H& L) i, p! a6 F$ L% f

• responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff3 b" e3 r4 G: C$ ]: b" [
• provide leadership to staff and volunteers
9 F' E: H( ^$ u, w• provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions
) t5 w& k( a6 Y2 r+ A7 u) F• monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators

• meet with staff on regular basis

+ k( p4 l' J. L2 H9 b) k$ N• design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities6 w D3 P& G" z, h$ P
• prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders0 d, i( i) g4 V6 G
• set program priorities and directions ( F( v* ^, M5 |: x( a5 L
• identify community and user needs and trends4 o4 Y$ S3 E" h U4 ^
• implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends! D5 y# y! y6 ^) Z; s; p
• conduct program evaluation/survey/research

• ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

) z: J9 P: [: d, B- K& U• act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities

• coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups$ l- t3 W) P& V1 m! A7 A# z& s
• advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
# y6 z" s( j) l( z; L7 }• work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
+ O+ I7 T0 H! z- c! q( ^• Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff

Qualifications9 o0 t7 r! o: g( x6 z
- University degree in a related field;
9 r* t, g3 F: ?- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;7 w% t# h) ^& g9 W" X
- Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; 6 b w& O' n/ D _8 p
- 2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization

Salary5 P) }8 ]3 T! e
- $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
