Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities& q" r0 V9 s9 |# D! ~ H
- submit information for community news 7 _* b( h' b! E( [
- provide volunteers to update membership database
% x3 V2 P6 }4 P' D5 I0 s- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers0 C, J' {" V9 H6 ?) T/ S
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
3 a2 W3 L+ g- T1 a- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
: B1 N# X( ~, _, ]7 \, w- provide volunteers for various programs ' q0 |. H; }5 |7 L2 u
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual# M- U s& J1 @! \3 r. W/ n) P
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation1 f( S6 w) S2 C) W+ w0 o3 B) ?/ r# V
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
& A9 U; W P" _ L$ r- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
( O) ]* x0 U t0 Y+ t% L6 L+ I9 h- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports6 w; y- ?* r* ~# {5 u8 L( U4 X: q
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
) i* C# ~' A) C/ q( k7 s! D4 u- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events + B( j5 O! b4 N: Q% U
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual i2 p2 c/ g v0 F( l7 ^
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers & v) l: T8 @! x
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
5 i" }' v x( M& J+ ?- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
0 B3 A4 w% I1 E& V: O% g- evaluations
1 d! e6 }& j8 Q' {: s- I: {+ q& D- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education4 J9 b' `' N7 c0 s9 v
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills0 \/ `) Y, G! T0 I5 k& m4 a; L
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services4 c$ h) O/ m3 ` b7 @
- leadership skills2 {9 V# z+ ~0 `- X, Y6 p% E
- management and supervision skills
