Key Responsibilities# ]+ e2 C( r' U$ b1 P
- submit information for community news
5 ?4 h6 x6 A) [- v ?) ]- provide volunteers to update membership database/ g8 H+ v; K$ A
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers1 X' ^8 ^& I ?' B
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties1 T, D3 R* k. S; ^
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
" d2 @1 E0 _! h" ]" z3 v! y. y" V- provide volunteers for various programs $ I1 l% S+ u3 o" f
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
) Q* |, ~7 a. A+ P* i- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation$ s- s% B: N8 q* L1 C1 ~
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities: i/ O* L. h% o( S7 K& x- e
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services1 C7 I+ ~5 B% r# O2 h
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
- `; h. N5 f* Z: L b5 |. P3 T' S- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed* j! o$ A8 i6 G5 u! ^ @1 b# K
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed, v0 h/ ^/ G# K3 h# }
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required), s% E2 X: s( G2 ~& o
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
5 z' f1 {0 l) M- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 2 C# T" m$ r! k$ x
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
* w! k4 v6 D- O1 |' U: B. f# p# z- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers # k- M' {9 F+ d9 p; S; p; B5 ?
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

8 q5 @% a* q- P- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education2 ]$ x) g d! b8 W
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills* `4 N8 j+ K5 i8 ^. }, _
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services' r. p/ w' f' `% W6 v+ j
- leadership skills
5 o+ b" s/ G/ `5 k. z( {/ b8 O- management and supervision skills7 K; r( C1 w m
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
