Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
$ Z$ [1 E' [9 ~3 m: o" ]- submit information for community news
+ P* }" o, \2 m: J( u( Y) p0 _- provide volunteers to update membership database
; C, l. Q7 ]9 X( T1 J; k* x* S- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers+ z' t3 Y0 Q# `( l
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties, I# a. V7 T$ a- x
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties+ f. p5 F$ a% n, }$ n; f
- provide volunteers for various programs * z- Y# g- d& j% j) @
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
3 V/ s5 P4 b5 |5 @2 L- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation" e7 g \0 O7 y. q3 `
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
! t' c% \+ I! u' I) A! k- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
/ l% X9 g- R8 n: W& W6 K- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports/ B) h1 n9 O* h ~6 h
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed, |' {, {& p0 l* L @
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
7 p# N2 [ H& M8 y- P- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
6 i/ o* M" H# ]% V4 T' L: o G- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 9 {! ?9 ]7 Z# b- d3 u: {0 Q
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 9 ~- E4 u, _( d- `
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
1 P7 X3 Q" W5 t8 h( ~4 c- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
* C4 ^5 y7 f; }: g- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 2 X G, s# S9 P/ Q1 K( [$ H
- evaluations ( J6 i1 s0 h7 x8 i9 j1 q! I- V
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre7 G+ [% T! L2 d* ?) \* e
% q- [1 s3 X0 q% g, y/ CQualifications+ l6 `3 |" T* q" J* f
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education v* @& P; F F# p' S7 r+ {! F8 Y
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills7 b3 r# K/ q" D
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services% k, K _ p: c
- leadership skills" C- A2 ?4 f( n+ Y% `; {; v
- management and supervision skills# W& q( Q6 t+ V
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills. I, d2 ?& a2 ?0 }7 w
