Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news % f2 ~% g( x8 @9 e G0 Q
- provide volunteers to update membership database: H, n; G1 e$ A' m& L* Q( W9 w
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers+ S, Y. @8 S l
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
( q' M$ t; n" h" W- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
3 V; ?* ^, O' B- provide volunteers for various programs
5 k; j8 k- C; S# Q9 T2 X- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual4 V: C3 y" j3 ?
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
) \+ [9 Z6 |8 N& t D9 ^+ _5 S- X- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
" E* B- D1 j( R4 D& \- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
" n2 }# O/ ~, D: q- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
' r1 a; o, y& I( S5 t! D- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
% `5 [' H h# N4 G! u5 [- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed8 |6 V: s+ [2 J/ I
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)# g8 P0 K3 Y, j% t5 V* F
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 1 b0 `8 h4 a% ^. v1 H$ e
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
( G, i; m8 @' W' W- ^8 e- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers % G7 t; P& c* u* l
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers + P A% N# h/ F9 [8 e8 e
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis : k9 s$ m4 ^6 ?* m
- evaluations $ e: `0 F! T* y
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre6 u, c! O" m$ B6 G4 m

Qualifications9 W) q( i2 d9 O0 u& X
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education: s- {( p4 N, ~% ?" @4 w- X) s
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills& g& c) q1 ]8 C" e1 _9 Q
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services- ~+ D" _- y5 |7 a: x6 Z. [9 q- U
- leadership skills0 Q H0 }7 {$ ]8 y; _
- management and supervision skills
