Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator 9 X* y9 H7 O0 B* O' `1 Q
Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities
7 j9 ?# K2 u5 S; E- submit information for community news
4 c, {: Z4 G+ A; `, T1 }) }- provide volunteers to update membership database
- G# I" p8 r1 j3 @- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers( g$ W. q4 q. ~8 r
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties* u* z4 `, c: f9 T) t% b3 z1 q
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
5 }" j4 `& x) o! k( T# C- provide volunteers for various programs
) U Z) E: A3 O3 Y" N- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual$ ^7 w9 q! q- q) h9 g' L& q
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
; g" Z( o" B: _+ D b4 W) q. J- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
% S7 V/ A8 D- z; ]- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services! x, x/ E/ P+ W- P
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
, {' w2 X! O% ]+ ~. ~( p2 ?2 T- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed; R7 u! x+ k1 u" N9 \7 d
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed' j b5 I, z. T8 C( I* G
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)" A- W" V) C# J
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events " X$ X8 P: Y1 k. I6 r, F
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 2 t9 x+ p: V; B4 M" |
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
6 x% O8 }8 o. P6 ]# o- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
+ _* z8 Q C9 C3 h: }; c- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
0 i+ v) C- R" J t4 j- evaluations
6 ?1 H7 }& P. ~: o2 P7 b/ t- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications+ \+ M( u9 f8 X) s1 b- J
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education% h& t9 I. _7 x, p% p+ ~% v& \& j2 t9 Z
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
9 }$ X0 P c: u2 `$ `& q0 [; S- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
! Z& E9 S; ^- E( ~- leadership skills; s4 E& S+ [/ M& {6 O
- management and supervision skills
, f! S- ^" k; p; i0 w, w6 a- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
